NASA Administrator Janet Petro has nominated Greg Autry to serve as the agency’s chief financial officer (CFO), responsible for managing $25 billion in funding across various missions, including lunar and Martian endeavors. Prior experience includes being a White House liaison during President Trump’s first administration and serving on key policy committees at NASA and the Federal Aviation Administration.
Autry brings expertise from academia, business, and government roles, having held positions such as associate provost for Space Commercialization and Strategy at the University of Central Florida and professor at Arizona State University. He has also published books and taught courses in technology entrepreneurship and macroeconomics.
If confirmed, Autry will focus on maximizing efficiencies, refining processes, and ensuring effective stewardship of tax dollars invested in NASA, in collaboration with the current Trump Administration.
