Microsoft Teases 25H2 Update for Windows 11, But Is It Coming?

Windows users who haven’t yet upgraded to Windows 11 24H2 are being urged to do so, as support for the older version is ending. However, some may be hesitant due to issues with the latest update, such as Bluetooth problems and system crashes.

In a recent blog post, Microsoft announced that it will be releasing new “26200 series builds” in the Dev Channel, which are based on 24H2 but include behind-the-scenes platform changes. This could be a sign that work is underway for this year’s 25H2 update, although it hasn’t been officially confirmed.

While Microsoft has only mentioned that the 26200 build series is based on Windows 11 24H2, announcements in the Dev Channel often indicate significant updates are coming. It’s unclear whether the 25H2 update will be a cumulative update or a full OS swap, but the latter is unlikely due to its size and complexity.

Microsoft hasn’t released an official timeline for the 25H2 update, but past years have seen major updates released in September or October, with continued rollout through the end of the year. With support for Windows 10 ending in October, this would be a good time for the 25H2 update to arrive if it’s clean and stable.
