Affleck also addressed the upcoming documentary about their marriage, “The Greatest Love Story Never Told,” in which he participated. He clarified that his participation was to share an honest examination of their relationship, not to reveal any major fractures or secrets. The actor-director emphasized that the truth behind their breakup is often more mundane than what’s speculated by the public.
In contrast to Lopez’s comments on her divorce in a recent interview with Interview magazine, Affleck stated he has “nothing but respect” for his ex-wife. He acknowledged that breakups are about figuring out one’s life and relationships, rather than having a dramatic or scandalous story.
The former couple rekindled their romance in 2021 after previously ending their relationship in 2003. They married in 2022, but Lopez filed for divorce in August 2024.
