Stefon Diggs Signs 3-Year Deal with Patriots Worth $69M

Four-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Stefon Diggs has signed a three-year, $69 million deal with the New England Patriots, according to sources. The agreement includes $26 million guaranteed.

Diggs, 31, suffered a season-ending ACL injury in Week 8 while playing for the Houston Texans but is expected to return for Week 1 of the upcoming season. In his previous stint, Diggs was ranked seventh in the NFL in catches and second in receiving yards on the Texans.

The Patriots made an effort to sign receiver Chris Godwin in free agency, but he ultimately returned to Tampa Bay. After visiting with Diggs last week, the team decided to pursue him as their top target.

Diggs joins a deep receiving corps that also includes Mack Hollins, Kendrick Bourne, Kayshon Boutte, and DeMario Douglas. The Texans acquired Diggs from the Buffalo Bills last year, absorbing the final three years of his contract and making him eligible for free agency in 2025.

During his time with the Bills, Diggs set multiple team and league records, including being one of four players to record four consecutive seasons with over 100 receptions. A fifth-round pick by the Minnesota Vikings in 2015, Diggs has accumulated 857 receptions, 10,491 yards, and 71 touchdowns over his 10-year NFL career.
