Americans Struggle with Financial Strains as Inflation Rises

Low- and middle-income Americans are feeling the pinch of stubborn inflation, with most saying they’re sacrificing their happiness to keep up with rising prices. Despite having a master’s degree, many are struggling to make ends meet due to economic uncertainty.

For those earning less than $79,000, such as elementary-school teacher Rachelle Biennestin, the financial burden is becoming increasingly difficult. When her rent rose by $400 and grocery store prices changed, Biennestin’s finances “felt out of control.” To cope, she now cooks at home, hasn’t bought clothes in months, and has saved only $2,600 this year.

This trend is being felt nationwide, with many looking for ways to adapt to economic uncertainty. As inflation continues to rise and tariffs are introduced, more Americans are forced to make tough lifestyle changes to stay afloat. With the financial strain becoming too much, it’s clear that something needs to change.
