Texas Longhorns secured a spot in the Final Four after defeating TCU 58-47 in the Elite Eight round of the NCAA Tournament on Monday night. The victory marks Texas’ first appearance in the Final Four since 2003.
Led by Madison Booker’s 18 points and Rori Harmon’s 13 points, Texas dominated the game from start to finish. Despite TCU’s best efforts, including a late surge led by Sedona Prince scoring only four points, Texas never trailed and took control with several crucial plays in the second half.
The Longhorns’ defense played a significant role in securing the win, forcing 11 turnovers on TCU in the first half alone. Rori Harmon led all scorers with 11 points in the first quarter, but Texas’s offense cooled off in the second quarter, allowing TCU to narrow the gap before halftime.
Texas will face SEC rival South Carolina in its next game on Friday in Tampa. The Longhorns advanced to the Final Four after a 22-year drought and will look to bring home their fourth national championship in program history.
