Nintendo Switch 2 Unveiled with Next-Gen Performance

Nintendo has unveiled the Nintendo Switch 2, a console that takes performance to the next level. Powered by a custom NVIDIA processor, the new console features an NVIDIA GPU with dedicated RT Cores and Tensor Cores, delivering stunning visuals and AI-driven enhancements.

With over 1,000 engineer-years of effort invested in its design, the Nintendo Switch 2 boasts major upgrades. The console enables up to 4K gaming in TV mode and 120 frames per second at 1080p in handheld mode. It also supports high dynamic range and AI upscaling, sharpening visuals and smooth gameplay.

The new RT Cores bring real-time ray tracing, creating lifelike lighting, reflections, and shadows for more immersive worlds. Tensor Cores power features like Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS), boosting resolution without sacrificing image quality. These cores also enable AI-powered face tracking and background removal in video chat use cases, enhancing social gaming and streaming.

The Nintendo Switch 2 delivers smoother gameplay and sharper visuals, with a performance boost of 10 times that of the original Switch. Tensor Cores maintain power consumption efficiency while enhancing graphics. The console also features variable refresh rate via NVIDIA G-SYNC, ensuring ultra-smooth, tear-free gameplay in handheld mode.

For developers, Nintendo has improved game engines, better physics, and optimized APIs for faster, more efficient game creation. With its powerful NVIDIA technology, the Nintendo Switch 2 delivers for both players and developers.
