JCI Santa Clarita Hosts Enchanting Night at the Museum Fundraiser

Community leaders gathered for JCI Santa Clarita’s “Leap Laboratory: Night at the Museum” fundraiser, unleashing their inner child and embracing science, magic, and sensory experiences. The event aimed to raise funds for the Leap Santa Clarita Children’s Museum popup scheduled for five weekends this summer.

The museum’s president, Kari McCoy, envisions a space where children can explore interactive exhibits that spark imagination and learning. Last year’s debut at the Valencia Town Center mall attracted over 1,700 visitors from surrounding communities, demonstrating the potential for a permanent location in Santa Clarita.

Local leaders, including Councilman Jason Gibbs and SCV Rotary Club president Scott Hoolahan, expressed their support for McCoy’s efforts, highlighting the importance of education and childhood experiences. Gibbs noted that the museum offers a unique approach to learning, where visitors go not to find answers but to ask new questions.

The evening featured sensory stations, a magic show by award-winning magician Chris Canfield, and a chance to win tickets to The Magic Castle. McCoy thanked the attendees for their belief in the project, emphasizing the importance of teamwork in making it a reality.
