Spanish Pro Bernat Escuder Wins ANWA Championship

Spanish golfer Carla Bernat Escuder won the Augusta National Women’s Amateur by one shot from American teenager Asterisk Talley.

Bernat Escuder carded a 68 in her final round to post a total score of 12 under, while Talley shot four-under-par 72.

Despite trailing overnight leader Lottie Woad after a bogey on the par-three 16th, Bernat Escuder kept her composure and closed out the tournament with six birdies and two bogeys.

Woad, who started the final round nine under but ended up shooting level-par 72, finished third behind Bernat Escuder.

The 21-year-old Spaniard is now the first player to score under 70 in all three rounds of the ANWA championship, which earns her entry into four major women’s golf tournaments this year.
