Elon Musk Mocked Across Europe Over Far-Right Politics and Tesla

Satire is flourishing in Britain, targeting Elon Musk over his far-right politics and business ventures. Humor and art have been used to mock the powerful in the UK for centuries, and now Musk is on the receiving end.

The mischievous posters began appearing all over London in the past two months. One shows Musk emerging from a Tesla’s roof with his hand pointing upward in a straight-armed salute, while another features him saluting beside a red Tesla with “Now With White Power Steering.”

A group called Overthrow Musk is behind these efforts, which also include fake movie billboards and street art depicting Musk taking off a mask to show Adolf Hitler’s face underneath. The protesters aim to challenge Musk’s influence without resorting to violence.

Tesla’s stock price has almost halved since its high in December, around the same time Musk began his high-profile role overseeing government worker firings and slashing federal agency budgets. This is partly due to the protests, which have put pressure on the company.

Musk remains optimistic about Tesla’s long-term prospects, saying “long term, I think Tesla stock’s going to do fine, so maybe it’s a buying opportunity.” The protesters, however, seek to capture public attention and challenge Musk’s influence without resorting to vandalism.
