A person has been killed in a Russian attack on the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv, amid an ongoing missile strike that has raised the death toll to 19. The attack occurred in the Darnytskyi district and caused fires in several non-residential areas, damaging cars and buildings.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russian attacks are a response to international diplomatic efforts, emphasizing the need for increased pressure on Moscow. He has called for continued support from partners like the US, Europe, and the world to guarantee security and bring peace closer.
The death toll from Friday’s attack on Kryvyi Rih has also risen to 19, with many children among the victims. Local authorities reported that the strike damaged 44 apartment buildings and 23 private houses. The Russian Defense Ministry claimed a high-precision missile strike killed 85 military personnel but these claims have not been verified.
Russia fired 23 missiles and 109 drones across Ukraine overnight, with 13 missiles shot down and 53 decoy drones jammed. The Ukrainian air force reported destroying 11 Ukrainian drones in the process.
