US laptop maker Framework has temporarily paused sales on some of its laptops due to the impact of US tariffs imposed by the Trump administration. The affected models, including the Ultra 5 125H and Ryzen 5 7640U, have been removed from the company’s website.
Framework cited that it priced its laptops when tariff rates on imports from Taiwan were zero percent. However, with a 10% tariff now in effect, the company claims it would be forced to sell lower-end models at a loss. This is similar to actions taken by other consumer goods makers, although most have not disclosed their decision-making process publicly.
The move follows recent disruptions caused by US tariffs on products from other companies, such as Nintendo and Jaguar Land Rover.
