Actress Drew Barrymore recently shared heartfelt memories of working with late actor Val Kilmer during an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show. Barrymore praised Kilmer for his kindness and support, describing him as “kind & safe” to her.
On the set of 1995’s Batman Forever, Barrymore recalled how Kilmer made her feel valued and nurtured. She said he showed a rare level of care towards her, making it clear that no one wanted anything from her but rather sought to give back. This behavior was notable at the time, according to Barrymore.
Kilmer’s co-star Kevin Bacon also shared his own fond memories of working with Kilmer, including their time together in the 1983 Broadway production Slab Boys. Bacon praised Kilmer as a “great experience” and someone he looked up to.
Val Kilmer passed away on April 1 at the age of 65 due to pneumonia, but his legacy lives on through his body of work, which includes films like The Doors, Top Gun: Maverick, and Tombstone.
