Trump’s Tariffs Could Hike iPhone Prices Up to $350

US President Donald Trump’s reciprocal tariffs are expected to raise the price of Apple’s iPhone 16 Pro Max by up to $350 in the US, according to a new estimate from UBS analysts. The estimate reflects growing concerns among investors and customers about potential price hikes due to Trump’s tariffs.

The iPhone 16 Pro Max, Apple’s top-end iPhone, currently retails for $1,199. With the tariffs, the expected retail price could increase by nearly 30% if made in China. However, a smaller $120 price hike is predicted for units manufactured in India.

This development comes as shares of Apple have plummeted 20% over the past three trading days, wiping out nearly $640 billion in market capitalization. Analysts from UBS and other firms predict that Apple will need to absorb higher costs due to Trump’s tariffs, which could lead to price increases or reduced earnings per share.

Apple is highly exposed to a trade war, with China imposing a potential 54% tariff rate on products imported into the country. Smaller countries such as India, Vietnam, and Thailand also face increased tariffs. Analysts predict that Apple may raise prices across its product lines in the US by 17% to 18% or face reduced earnings per share if it doesn’t get exemptions from the US government.
