Following the release of iOS 18.4, Apple has stopped signing the iOS 18.3.2 firmware, making it impossible for iPhone and iPad users to downgrade to this version after updating their device.
iOS 18.4, released on March 31, includes several significant features, such as Apple Intelligence support in multiple languages, new emojis, Priority Notifications, and Visual Intelligence for iPhone 15 Pro models. The update also boasts numerous security patches, including fixes for exploits that could allow apps to access sensitive user data.
In contrast, iOS 18.3.2, released on March 11, addressed an exploit in WebKit that allowed malicious web content to break the sandbox. To prevent users from exploiting this vulnerability, Apple has stopped signing the older firmware.
To maintain device security and protect against hackers and other attacks, it’s essential to keep your device’s software up-to-date. However, this means that users experiencing bugs with the latest version of iOS are now unable to downgrade to a previous version.
The only possible downgrade available is from iOS 18.5 beta to iOS 18.4. Users can update their iOS by going to Settings > General > Software Update if they have a compatible iPhone or iPad.
