The penultimate episode of “WWE Raw” before WrestleMania 41 took place on Monday night at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Despite absences from John Cena and Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes, the momentum towards WrestleMania didn’t slow down.
Paul Heyman addressed the chaos that unfolded last week when CM Punk cashed in his favor, demanding Heyman’s backing instead of Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 41. Seth Rollins interrupted, launching into a diatribe against Punk and Reigns before threatening Paul Heyman. The rivalries between these three have been building masterfully.
Jey Uso solidified his position as a confident threat to Gunther in the Ring General match at WrestleMania 41. Uso cut a straightforward promo that showcased his determination, setting up an intense rivalry with Gunther.
Rhea Ripley was added to the mix with Iyo Sky and Bianca Belair in a highly anticipated title triangle match, which promises to be explosive. The women’s division is looking strong heading into WrestleMania 41.
The crowd was tested by Lyra Valkyria vs. Bayley for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship, but despite some issues, it was an excellent match that showcased both competitors’ skills.
In other news, Rey Mysterio will face El Grande Americano at WrestleMania 41, and Dominik Mysterio set up a fatal four-way match for the Intercontinental Championship. The Raw Deal segment saw War Raiders and New Day engage in a fun Tag Team Championship match that ended abruptly.
Overall, Monday’s episode of “WWE Raw” was almost perfect, with a great build-up to WrestleMania 41.
