Tom Cruise will return to the prestigious Cannes Film Festival with his latest action-packed film, “Mission: Impossible — Final Reckoning.” The movie is set to screen out of competition at the festival on May 14, ahead of its scheduled release in theaters on May 23.
Cruise’s appearance marks his third time at Cannes, but it will be his first visit since the 2022 launch of “Top Gun: Maverick,” which earned him an honorary Palme d’Or. The lineup for this year’s festival will be revealed next Thursday in Paris, with Robert De Niro also set to receive an honorary Palme d’Or at the opening ceremony on May 13.
Cruise is joined by writer-director Christopher McQuarrie and the rest of the cast for a screening at the Palais des Festivals. The event marks a significant milestone in the “Mission: Impossible” franchise, which has become a staple of big-screen entertainment.
