Minecraft Movie Protests Spark Police Response Across US

A group of rowdy teenagers disrupted a showing of “A Minecraft Movie” at The Valley Cinema in Wasilla, Alaska, prompting police to arrive and escort them out. The incident has sparked national reports of similar disruptions attributed to a social media trend.

The disruption was caught on camera by a TikTok video that showed two officers standing outside the theater as it ended. The officer can be heard saying, “All of you guys are not welcome here anymore.” The video gained 4.4 million views as of Tuesday morning.

According to Wasilla police spokesperson Amanda Graham, five officers responded to a call from the theater manager around 9 pm on Friday. A large group of teenagers was being rowdy, and the officer’s statement was in response to that behavior. No charges were filed, and all employees at the theater said they were satisfied with how the situation was handled.

Similar incidents have been reported across the US, including at a UK cinema, which issued a warning about disruptive behavior during movie screenings. The Minecraft movie has sparked wild audience reactions, particularly among young audiences who are sharing clips of themselves erupting in cheers and applause on social media.

Wasilla police said they responded with caution due to a fatal stabbing that occurred at the theater nearly a year ago. Police Chief Amanda Graham urged parents to talk to their teens about responsible behavior when groups gather together.
