Bayern, Inter Struggle with Injuries Ahead of Champions League Quarter-Final

Several key players from both Bayern Munich and Inter will miss the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final due to injury. Bayern’s fitness concerns have been a major issue in recent weeks, with several top players already sidelined.

Bayern is set to be without Jamal Musiala (hamstring) for at least some of the match, while Manuel Neuer and Dayot Upamecano are confirmed to miss the entire tie. Kingsley Coman has suffered a season-ending injury, and Alphonso Davies’ fate is uncertain due to a similar injury. Aleksandr Pavlovic’s return date is hard to predict due to his ongoing battle with mononucleosis.

In contrast, Inter will be without Denzel Dumfries (muscular) for the first leg. Piotr Zielinski’s medial ligament calf injury will keep him out until early May. The team is also short on attacking options, with only three forwards available: Lautaro Martinez, Marcus Thuram, and Marko Arnautovic. Mehdi Taremi may be called up for the second leg if his left thigh strain improves.

Inter coach Simone Inzaghi has concerns about his team’s fitness levels, particularly after having to substitute Alessandro Bastoni, Hakan Calhanoglu, and Federico Dimarco during their last Serie A game. However, Dimarco is expected to be available for the first leg despite not being in perfect form.
