The United States has started collecting its unilateral 10% “baseline” tariff on imports from many countries, including India. This move comes after President Donald Trump signed an executive order imposing the duty. The baseline tariff will take effect on April 5, 2025, while country-specific additional tariffs will be effective starting April 9, 2025.
