Sony has released its new Bravia 8 II OLED TV lineup, which includes a significant price increase in the US market while maintaining similar prices in Canada. The 65-inch model of the Bravia 8 II OLED is priced at $3,999.99, $500 more than its starting MSRP compared to the A95L.
However, Canadian customers will continue to pay the same price as two years ago, roughly $3,500 when converted to USD. This pricing discrepancy may indicate that Sony is incorporating tariff mitigation in the US market.
The Bravia 5 Mini LED TV also sees a price increase, with significant differences between US and Canadian MSRP. The smallest 55-inch model has its prices adjusted from $1,699.99 CA to $1,409.34 USD.
Sony has not commented on whether this pricing strategy is related to the new tariffs imposed by President Donald Trump. Nevertheless, home theater enthusiasts are often willing to pay a premium for Sony’s exceptional picture processing and viewing experience.
