Weezer Bassist’s Wife Arrested for Pointing Gun at Police

Jillian Shriner, the 51-year-old wife of Weezer bassist Scott Shriner, has been arrested and charged with attempted murder after allegedly pointing a handgun at police during a manhunt in Los Angeles. The incident occurred on Tuesday when three hit-and-run suspects fled to a residential area, prompting a search by authorities.

Police responded to the scene, where they observed Shriner armed with a handgun in the yard of a neighboring residence. Despite being ordered to drop the gun, she refused and allegedly fired at the officers, striking herself with a 9mm handgun recovered from her home.

Shriner was taken into custody and transported to an area hospital for treatment after suffering a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. She is scheduled to appear in court on April 30 and has been released on $1 million bail.

The officer-involved shooting remains under investigation, but evidence suggests that Shriner may have fired her weapon at the officers. The suspects in the hit-and-run incident were not found by police, with one male suspect detained by the California Highway Patrol.
