Apple’s CEO Tim Cook Vows to Stay On, But What’s Next?

Apple is undergoing significant changes as it rolls out its AI platform and navigates slowing iPhone growth. The company has seen several executive departures in recent months, including the departure of key executives Matt Fischer, Carol Surface, Sjoerd Gehring, and Dan Riccio. CFO Luca Maestri will transition to lead corporate services on January 1.

However, one constant remains – CEO Tim Cook. In an interview with Wired’s Steven Levy, Cook expressed his commitment to Apple, stating it’s hard to imagine his life without the company. He plans to stay with Apple as long as he feels able, citing a “privilege of a lifetime.”

Cook has been with Apple since 1998 and has guided the company through significant transformations, including launching successful products like the Apple Watch and AirPods, and transitioning from Intel chips to custom ones.

Despite his commitment, Cook faces several challenges, including an antitrust lawsuit filed by the Department of Justice, which accuses the company of anticompetitive practices. With slow sales of the expensive Apple Vision Pro headset and a dropped car project, Cook must navigate these issues while maintaining Apple’s growth and success.
