Deshaun Watson has appeared in just 19 games over the past three years due to injuries and suspensions. The quarterback, who signed a fully guaranteed $230 million contract with the Cleveland Browns, is now facing a potentially season-ending injury.
Watson’s Achilles tendon ruptured twice, once in October last year and again in January, leading many to expect he’ll be sidelined for the entire 2025 season. However, Watson is confident he can return better than before. In a recent Instagram post, he stated, “I know I’m gonna be way better than before.”
Despite his determination, Browns owner Jimmy Haslam recently admitted that signing Watson was a mistake. The team gave up several draft picks to secure the quarterback’s services, and Haslam described it as a “big swing and miss.” Watson also faced off-field issues, with over a dozen women accusing him of misconduct during massage therapy sessions.
Watson’s career has taken a significant hit since joining the Browns. He has thrown 19 touchdowns against 12 interceptions in his time with the team, which is a far cry from his impressive numbers with the Houston Texans, where he threw 104 touchdowns in just four seasons.
