Amanda Peet appeared on The View alongside co-star Olivia Munn to promote their new show “Your Friends & Neighbors.” During the conversation, conservative cohost Alyssa Farah Griffin asked about Peet’s family life. When it comes to being a cool mom, Peet shared that her teenage daughters aren’t too thrilled with her past roles.
In an amusing display of humor, Peet revealed she let them watch “Something’s Gotta Give” because she didn’t appear nude in the film. However, they quickly turned off the movie after watching only five minutes due to its depiction of a younger woman dating an older man.
The 2003 romantic comedy features Jack Nicholson and Diane Keaton. Critics praised the film, with Keaton receiving a Best Actress nomination at the 2004 Oscars. The movie was a commercial success, earning $267 million globally against a budget of $80 million.
Peet’s daughters see her in other films but not “Something’s Gotta Give.” Peet jokingly said she showed it to them because it’s a beautiful romantic comedy and has Diane Keaton as her idol. However, they reacted negatively due to its storyline. Despite this, the film remains one of Peet’s favorites.
