Toshiba has launched a new record player designed specifically for vinyl enthusiasts who want to take their analog music collections on-the-go. The Aurex AX-RP10 is a compact, portable device that can be easily hauled around in an included shoulder bag, accommodating 12-inch records and featuring a built-in USB-C charged battery.
The AX-RP10’s compact design draws inspiration from the iconic Audio-Technica Sound Burger, but with a slightly larger footprint. It boasts Bluetooth connectivity, allowing users to connect it wirelessly to wireless headphones or speakers for a hassle-free listening experience. The device also features a 10-hour battery life and can be paired with Bluetooth speakers.
Key features of the AX-RP10 include:
* Compatible with both 33 1/3 and 45 rpm records
* Uses MM type cartridges
* Belt-driven turntable with no built-in speakers
* Stereo mini audio jack for wired headphones or sound system connection
* Built-in battery with 2,000mAh capacity (lasts up to 10 hours)
* Bluetooth connectivity for wireless listening
While the AX-RP10’s hardware may not appeal to audiophiles, it offers a convenient solution for vinyl enthusiasts who want to enjoy their music on-the-go. Pricing information has not been announced yet but is expected to be revealed sometime in April 2025.
