BU Men’s Hockey Stuns Penn State to Reach Title Game

The No. 8/3 Boston University men’s ice hockey team edged out No. 12/5 Penn State by a score of 3-1 in the Frozen Four semifinals, advancing to their first national championship game since 2015. The Terriers’ victory came after a strong second period, during which they scored two goals and took a 2-0 lead. Junior Devin Kaplan’s assist set up freshman Cole Eiserman for his first career goal, while senior Jack Hughes scored the third goal in the second period.

However, Penn State refused to give up, scoring one goal in the third period before Boston University sealed the win with an empty-netter from sophomore Jack Harvey. Senior Mikhail Yegorov made 32 saves for the Terriers, who will now face No. 3/1 Western Michigan in Saturday’s title game.
