MiLaysia Fulwiley Enters NCAA Transfer Portal as South Carolina Star

South Carolina women’s basketball guard MiLaysia Fulwiley has entered the NCAA transfer portal, according to reports. A Columbia native and former Gamecock star, Fulwiley will be one of the top transfer portal players this season.

Fulwiley played two seasons at South Carolina, earning All-SEC honors and the SEC’s Sixth Woman of the Year award as a sophomore. She averaged 11.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game during her time with the Gamecocks.

The 5’10” guard will have two years of eligibility remaining before heading to the WNBA. Her decision marks a significant departure from South Carolina’s backcourt, which still expects to be loaded with talent next season.

Returning starters Raven Johnson and Bree Hall will join newcomers Tessa Johnson and Maddy McDaniel, while incoming freshmen Ayla McDowell and Agot Makeer could factor into the equation. The Gamecocks expect to add more transfer portal commitments this offseason, despite having four open scholarships available.
