Iran-US Talks Reach Positive Stage Amid Israel-Hamas Tensions

Iranian officials claim that US diplomacy is driven by their military strength, while Israeli forces are pushing for the release of hostages held in Gaza.

A single missile was reportedly intercepted from Yemen, sparking alerts across central Israel. In a separate development, fragments of a missile were found in Hebron, West Bank. The Iranian news agency Tasnim reported that Iraj Masjedi, deputy coordinator of the Iranian Qods Force commander, said: “The enemy came to negotiate because of our deterrent force.”

Meanwhile, Israeli Chief of Staff General Eyal Zamir told fighters of the elite Nahshol unit during a Passover vigil that bringing back all hostages is their supreme mission. He emphasized: “We remember very well our 59 hostages still in Gaza. Bringing them back is our supreme mission, and everything we do in Gaza is aimed at freeing the hostages and defeating Hamas.”

The US has been engaging in indirect talks with Iran, which are reportedly making progress. Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said that the two sides are close to establishing a basis for negotiation.

However, tensions remain between Israel and Hamas, with Israeli forces striking Hamas command centers in Deir al-Balah and Al Ahli Hospital in Gaza. The IDF reaffirmed that military activity in medical facilities must cease, and warned of further action against those who violate international law.

The situation remains volatile, with sirens sounding across central Israel from a Yemen rocket attack and a warning issued for several Gaza neighborhoods after a rocket attack on Reim.
