Kenny Pickett Reflects on Pitt’s ACC Championship and Browns Training Camp

Kenny Pickett, a former Pitt and Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback, returned to Acrisure Stadium for the Blue-Gold Game, an event that signifies the end of spring drills. As one of the honorary captains with former Pitt cornerback A.J. Woods, Pickett shared his thoughts on the importance of core values in football.

“The core values of football at every level stay true – college and professional,” Pickett said. “Pour into your team. Pour into your teammates, care about one another. You’d be surprised when you go out there and see how hard guys play for each other.”

Pickett credited the tight brotherhood among his former Pitt teammates as a key factor in their 2021 ACC championship season. He expressed hope that this sense of camaraderie would continue and lead to a successful season.

After being traded from the Philadelphia Eagles, Pickett is now competing with fellow New Jersey native Joe Flacco for the Browns starting quarterback job. Although it’s his first time playing against Pitt in an NFL game, he’s excited to face off against Flacco, a former teammate at Pitt.
