Razer Enters Game-Streaming Space with PC Remote Play

Razer has entered the game-streaming space with its new app, PC Remote Play. The app leverages existing streaming technology and makes connecting a PC to mobile devices relatively simple. Although similar options like Moonlight exist, PC Remote Play might be worth checking out for those who prefer a more user-friendly experience.

PC Remote Play builds upon open-source code from Moonstream, allowing users to easily pair their devices without needing to set up a Sunshine server on Windows. The app creates a virtual display that mirrors the mobile device’s screen, turning off the PC’s screen in the process. This feature makes remote gaming outside of your home network easier.

Additionally, users with specific Razer peripherals, such as the Kishi Ultra or Kishi V2, can enjoy advanced rumble feedback and other upgrades on Android devices. The app mostly works seamlessly, although it may prompt you to install additional Razer apps on each device, including Nexus for mobile and Cortex for PC.

In a test, PC Remote Play successfully streamed games from a Windows PC to an iPad Air using Bluetooth controllers and installed necessary apps with minimal effort. With some attention, users can easily set up the two apps to interact and start playing.
