Filmmaker Robert Rodriguez paid tribute to late actor Nicky Katt, who died by suicide in his Los Angeles-area home on Monday, April 15. Katt was 54 and had a 38-year acting career, appearing in over 75 films and TV series.
Katt’s notable roles include Dazed and Confused, Sister Act, Friends, A Time to Kill, and The Dark Knight. His death has been confirmed by the Los Angeles Police Department, with the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner stating he died by suicide.
Rodriguez remembered Katt as “an absolute joy on and off the camera” and praised his creative ideas, physical comedy, and timing. Katt last appeared on screen in a 2018 episode of the Hulu series Casual.
