Dallas Cowboys legendary offensive tackle Tyron Smith is hanging up his boots after 14 seasons in the NFL. Smith, who played 13 of those seasons with the Cowboys, has decided to retire in the same offseason as fellow Cowboys great Zack Martin. Smith’s career was marked by incredible success, earning him eight Pro Bowl selections and five All-Pro nods.
Drafted ninth overall by the Cowboys in 2011, Smith quickly established himself as one of the league’s top tackles. He anchored a dominant Cowboys offense for over a decade, providing protection for quarterbacks Tony Romo and Dak Prescott. A neck injury limited his playtime in 2024, but he still managed to make an impact on the field.
Smith will sign a one-day contract with the Cowboys before officially retiring, giving him the opportunity to return home and say goodbye to the team that drafted him. With his impressive career coming to an end, Smith leaves behind a legacy as one of the greatest tackles in NFL history.
