Lenovo has announced its latest ThinkPad P14s mobile workstation-class laptop with a significant performance boost from its Gen 6 series. The new model features the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX PRO 370 Strix Point processor, which offers 12 cores and 24 threads of processing power.
This powerful processor is combined with an M.2 2280 slot supporting up to 2TB of PCIe Gen 4 x4 storage and a MediaTek MT7925 wireless card for fast WiFi 7 connectivity. The laptop also boasts two SODIMM slots for up to 96GB of DDR5-5600 memory.
Display options range from an IPS LCD touch display to an OLED panel with a resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels. Additional features include a 5MP webcam, optional IR camera for face recognition, and ports such as Thunderbolt 4, USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, Gigabit Ethernet, and HDMI 2.1.
However, it’s worth noting that the top-tier model only comes with a 57Wh battery, which may be a drawback. Nevertheless, Lenovo’s decision to keep the laptop thin and light is evident in its dimensions of 316 x 224 x 16mm (12.4″ x 8.8″ x 0.6″) and weight of 1.39kg (3.1 pounds).
