Mysterious Red Meat Allergy Linked to 3 US Tick Species

A recent study has identified three U.S. tick species as potential causes of a mysterious meat allergy known as alpha-gal syndrome. The lone star tick, previously thought to be the primary trigger, is no longer considered alone in this regard. Two cases have been linked to another two tick species, suggesting that multiple ticks may be responsible for triggering this condition.
