Verstappen Downplays Red Bull Departure Speculation

Max Verstappen has downplayed speculation about his future at Red Bull, saying he is “very relaxed” about the team’s prospects despite their difficult start to the 2025 Formula 1 season. The Dutch driver, who is third in the championship and aiming for a record-equalling fifth consecutive title, has a contract with Red Bull until 2028 but faces uncertainty over his long-term future.

Verstappen’s teammate Helmut Marko has expressed “great concern” that Verstappen may leave the team, citing a performance clause in his contract. However, Verstappen is focused on improving his car and working with the team rather than worrying about his own future.

Despite facing stiff competition from McLaren’s Lando Norris, Verstappen remains optimistic about his chances of winning the championship. He is set to face a tough weekend at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, where he will look to bounce back from a disappointing result in Bahrain.

Verstappen has been linked with moves to Mercedes and Aston Martin for 2026 when new regulations are introduced, but he has said he wants to focus on his current team and doesn’t want to be distracted by speculation about his future.
