Drake Sues Universal Music Over ‘Not Like Us’ Performance at Super Bowl

Hip-hop superstar Drake is suing Universal Music Group over the performance of Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us” at this year’s Super Bowl, adding it to his defamation lawsuit against the label.

In a federal court filing, Drake claims that the song was performed during the 2025 Super Bowl and broadcast to over 133 million people, including millions of children. The lyrics omitted the word “pedophile,” which Lamar had previously used in the track.

Lamar’s lawyer says Drake is making an already strong case stronger. Universal Music Group denies the allegations, saying Drake provoked the beef with his own diss tracks.

The amended lawsuit alleges that Universal Music used financial benefits and business relationships to secure Kendrick Lamar’s spot at the Super Bowl and promoted the performance. It also claims that defamatory portions of “Not Like Us” were played at the Grammy Awards in February when the single won five awards.

Drake is seeking undisclosed damages from the record label, but not from Lamar personally. The two have been beefing for years, with a feud escalating last year after both launched diss tracks at each other, including Lamar’s “Not Like Us.”
