Jake Paul Faces Julio César Chávez Jr. in June Bout

Boxing Promotions Announce Highly Anticipated Fight Between Jake Paul and Julio César Chávez Jr.

Former UFC fighter Uriah Hall returned to boxing last July with a close win over Julio César Chávez Jr., who is 39 years old and 13 years removed from his last world championship. This time, Chávez will face Jake Paul in an eight-round bout at the 200-pound weight class on June 28 in Anaheim, California.

In his prime, Chávez held the WBC middleweight title from 2011 to 2012, but lost a one-sided fight to Canelo Alvarez in 2017. The bout will be a significant test for Paul, who has fought just 10 rounds once before and defeated former UFC contender Nate Diaz via unanimous decision in August 2023.

Paul’s victory over Mike Tyson last November was notable due to the age difference between the two fighters. However, Chávez is confident that he can beat Paul, stating that he feels “rejuvenated” and “10 years younger.” The bout will be streamed live on pay-per-view via DAZN and marks the first of MVP’s two major summer events.

In addition to the main event, unified cruiserweight champion Gilberto Ramírez will defend his title against former world champion Yuniel Dorticós in the co-main event.
