Lando Norris Leads FP2 in Saudi Arabia After Yuki Tsunoda’s Red-Flagged Session

McLaren driver Lando Norris topped Free Practice 2 for the Formula 1 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, despite a red flag caused by teammate Yuki Tsunoda’s avoidable crash. The session was otherwise smooth, with McLaren reasserting its dominance on the challenging Jeddah street circuit.

Norris edged out his team-mate Oscar Piastri to take the top spot, with Norris leading their early medium runs and Piastri briefly taking the lead before being overtaken by Norris’ improved lap. Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc also made a strong impression, but couldn’t match Norris’ pace as he settled for fourth place.

Red Bull Racing drivers Yuki Tsunoda and Max Verstappen struggled to keep up with Norris and Piastri, with Tsunoda’s crash bringing an early end to his session. The incident occurred on the final corner of the track, with Tsunoda planting his car in the outside wall. Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton also had a low-key session, finishing 13th after being summoned to the stewards for allegedly impeding colleagues.
