Aaron Rodgers Open to Retirement as He Weighs Next Step

Aaron Rodgers, the 41-year-old Super Bowl XLV winner, has hinted at retirement from the NFL as a possibility while discussing his future with fellow NFL personality Pat McAfee. Released by the New York Jets last month, Rodgers is currently exploring options as a free agent.

Rodgers mentioned that he’s been taking time to weigh up his choices due to “personal matters” and being in a “serious relationship.” He also denied rumors of holding out for big-money contracts, stating he’ll play for $10 million per season. The quarterback revealed discussions with the Pittsburgh Steelers, New York Giants, and Minnesota Vikings about filling voids at those teams.

The veteran quarterback clarified that he values honesty in his communication with coaches and teams, saying “this is my life” and “I have stuff in the inner circle, that I’m intimately close to.” With a storied career spanning 20 seasons, Rodgers acknowledged retirement as a possibility but emphasized focusing on his personal life.
