YouTube Music Adds New Features for Enhanced Listening Experience

YouTube Music has introduced two new features aimed at enhancing the listening experience for users. The first feature allows users to like a song by double-tapping on the album art, which is available to version 8.14.53A or later on Android and iOS devices.

However, this gesture-based method may not be as convenient, especially when using one hand. YouTube Music already offers dedicated like and dislike buttons, making it easier to tap. Nonetheless, leveraging familiar gestures like double-tapping can potentially make the service more user-friendly.

The new feature takes advantage of users’ existing muscle memory from platforms like Instagram and TikTok. While this may not significantly improve the listening experience, it could lead to improved song suggestions in the future.

The second feature is called “Consistent volume” and aims to normalize the volume across tracks. This is particularly useful when listening to different genres with varying remastering levels. The feature is currently available on YouTube Music version 8.15 across Android and iOS devices, although it’s part of a phased rollout.

Users can access this feature by going to the Playback settings page in the YouTube Music app. For those who don’t see it yet, waiting a few days for the rollout to complete may be necessary. In the meantime, users can explore other features and tips for getting the most out of their YouTube Music subscription.
