Escape From Tarkov’s early access is set to come to a close after an astonishing eight years. The game’s project lead, Nikita Buyanov, had previously hinted at the approach of a release state, but no concrete release window was ever given. However, in a recent update to the 2025 roadmap, Escape From Tarkov has finally revealed its planned release date.
According to the new roadmap, the game will be released sometime between late Q3 and Q4 2025, with four major updates expected to be released monthly between May and August. The updates are expected to include quality-of-life changes and improvements such as lighthouse optimization, shoreline audio improvements, and balancing changes.
Community feedback has played a significant role in shaping these planned patches, thanks to the Tarkov.Community portal which allows players to submit suggestions and bug reports for prioritization by the developers. This direct communication has enabled the community to have a greater say in the game’s development.
While there is no concrete release date yet, the upcoming updates are expected to improve various aspects of the game, including AI behavior adjustments, reserve optimization, and audio engine improvements. The roadmap is preliminary, with an updated version planned for June, which may include more details on the release window.
This eight-year journey has seen significant changes in Escape From Tarkov, but the end of its early access is a major milestone for the game’s community. As players eagerly await the full release, these upcoming updates are expected to bring about substantial improvements and refinements to the game.
