Amazon’s Blink has unveiled its new smart camera rival, the Blink Outdoor 4, which boasts more than double the battery life of Ring’s devices. The gadget can last two years on a single charge, compared to Ring’s six to 12 months. The device also features motion detection, live view, and works seamlessly with Alexa.
The Blink Outdoor 4 is designed to provide simple and affordable smart home security for customers. According to Dave Ward, managing director for Blink, the company’s focus has always been on delivering reliable smart home security without compromising on battery life. The gadget’s new person detection feature uses computer vision to detect human visitors or passersby and can help reduce false alarm notifications.
The Blink Outdoor 4 is available on Amazon for £69.99, while a Battery Extension Pack that doubles the battery life up to four years is priced at £24.99. A bundle option combining both gadgets is also available for £89.99. The device works with Alexa, allowing users to receive motion announcements and use other smart devices to arm and disarm their system.
