Casely Power Pods 5000mAh Portable Charger Recalled Due to Fire Hazard

A recall has been issued for the Casely Power Pods 5000mAh portable MagSafe wireless phone charger due to a fire hazard. The recalled power bank, model number E33A, can overheat and ignite, posing burn hazards to consumers.

The affected product was sold in various colors and prints and measures 3 x 2 x 0.25 inches, weighing around 3.2 ounces. To avoid injury, stop using the power bank immediately and contact Casely for a free replacement. Consumers can submit online form with photographs of the power bank and receive a replacement.

According to Casely Inc., 51 consumer reports have been received of the lithium-ion battery overheating, expanding or catching fire while charging phones, resulting in six minor burn injuries. Consumers can report issues or non-responsive remedies to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) online.

The CPSC is responsible for protecting consumers from unreasonable risk of injury associated with consumer products. The recall affects approximately 429,200 units and is available on Casely’s website.
