Trump Administration Embroiled in Multiple Court Battles Over Immigration and Deportation Policies

The Trump administration is facing multiple court battles over its immigration and deportation policies. The national and Harvard chapter of the American Association of University Professors sued the administration, alleging First Amendment violations.

A federal appeals court ruled that a man who was mistakenly deported to El Salvador should be brought back to the US. The administration had resisted earlier orders to do so, claiming the man was an MS-13 gang member without evidence.

The court’s decision comes as President Trump continues to push for stricter immigration laws, including control over Harvard University. The president has also been involved in other high-profile cases, including a dispute with the Education Department and plans to impose auto tariffs and voting restrictions.

This week, the administration was warned by a judge that “probable cause exists” to hold the government in contempt for deporting people deemed Venezuelan gang members to El Salvador. The president invoked an 18th-century wartime authority to justify the deportations, which were temporarily blocked by a federal judge on Monday.

The Trump administration’s legal battles are ongoing, with multiple cases making it to court over issues such as immigration, education, and trade policies.
