The Anaheim Ducks have announced that Greg Cronin will not return as their head coach. General Manager Pat Verbeek thanked Cronin for his contributions, citing the team’s young core and improvement over the past two seasons.
Cronin, an Arlington native, spent two seasons with the Ducks, posting a 62-87-15 record. Prior to joining Anaheim, he coached in various roles, including five seasons with the Colorado Eagles in the American Hockey League (AHL) and four seasons as an assistant coach with the New York Islanders.
The decision to let Cronin go was reportedly difficult for Verbeek, but aimed at continuing the team’s progress towards becoming a Stanley Cup contender.
