China has discovered one of the largest gold deposits on Earth, located in Hunan province. The Wangu site yielded more than 40 distinct gold veins at depths of approximately 2,000 meters, containing over 1,000 metric tons of gold worth €78 billion or 600 billion yuan.
Initial surveys indicated around 300 tons of gold, but deeper drilling revealed even more reserves, exceeding the initial estimate.
