429,000 Portable Chargers Recalled Over Fire Risk

The US Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued a recall of nearly 429,000 portable power banks due to overheating and fire risks. Casely is recalling its “Power Pods” model E33A, which were sold on Amazon and other websites between March 2022 and September 2024. The chargers can cause minor burn injuries and have resulted in six reported incidents.

Consumers with the recalled chargers are urged to stop using them immediately and contact Casely for a free replacement. Eligible customers will receive a new, UL-certified Power Pod. However, lithium-ion battery devices should not be disposed of in regular trash or recycling bins; consumers must follow local guidelines for safe disposal.

Casely has issued the recall as a precautionary measure to ensure customer safety, and all other battery packs remain safe to use.
