Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has urged the country’s citizens to hold onto hope for peace, despite ongoing war. In a message on Easter Sunday, he emphasized that faith in each other and their cause is what will ultimately lead to victory.
Addressing Ukrainians from Saint Sophia Cathedral in Kyiv, Zelenskiy said Ukraine’s faith never wavers, citing the importance of unity among citizens. He also stated that evil may have its hour, but God has his day.
The Ukrainian leader highlighted the contrast between Russia’s claim of a one-day ceasefire and the reality on the ground. Despite this, Zelenskiy remained resolute in their fight for peace and justice.
Zelenskiy concluded by stating that one day of peace will come, and when it does, Ukrainians will be able to gather together once more at the table, enjoying a peaceful Easter celebration that will last a century.
