Google Photos Adds Ultra HDR Magic for Enhanced Images

Google has introduced an exciting new feature in its popular photo editing app, Google Photos. The “Ultra HDR” mode allows users to boost the vibrancy of their images with just a few taps, even after they’ve been taken. This innovative feature can be applied to regular photos, not just those taken with HDR cameras.

According to Android Authority, the Ultra HDR mode has begun rolling out to select Google Photos users in recent days. While it’s unclear if this feature is limited to high-end Android phones or will soon be available more widely, one thing is certain – it brings enhanced color reproduction and image vibrancy that can only be achieved with an HDR display.

The good news is that this new feature is backward compatible, meaning it won’t alter the viewing experience on regular Android screens. It also works in reverse, allowing users to convert normal photos into HDR equivalents, making them pop more than ever before.

Once the feature becomes more widely available, it can be accessed through the Adjust section of the Google Photos editor, where users can adjust the strength of the HDR effect using a slider. A preview of the Ultra HDR effect is available on GitHub for those with HDR-compatible devices.

While there’s no official word on when this feature will roll out to everyone, fans of mobile photography are likely eager to try it out as soon as possible.
